450 houses near Bladon Roundabout. Deadline for sending comments to CDC is 25 February 2025.
West Oxfordshire District Council (WODC) is currently drafting its Local Plan 2041. Residents will have a say in which developments should be included in that plan. We know that Blenheim has suggested the inclusion of a large site (59.8 hectares) near the existing Banbury Road site which could potentially add another 1000 homes to Woodstock. We consider that this would be disastrous for Woodstock. We have held discussions with WODC about this suggestion and are hopeful that WODC will reject it. But we will keep a close watch on this.
Cherwell District Council (CDC) has already drafted its Local Plan 2042 and it is expected that this plan will be examined by the Planning Inspectorate in about June or July 2025. The plan includes a site which is just to the east of Park View near the Bladon roundabout on the Woodstock side of Campsfield Road. This site could accommodate about 450 homes and the impacts of a housing development there would clearly fall on Woodstock. C-POW is opposed to the inclusion of the site in CDC's Local Plan 2042 and is submitting strong arguments to CDC showing that the site is unsuitable. We will be putting our case orally before the Planning Inspectorate during its examination of the CDC Local Plan.
The deadline for sending comments about this site to CDC is 25 February 2025. Here is a link to the relevant CDC page which explains how to comment on their Local Plan.
